Does my photography website display ok on your screen? Can you see the beginning of the welcome message?

By admin in usability blog

I’ve been tinkering with the layout for a while and I think I finally have it looking the way I want.

I managed to integrate the blog with the main site so it seems as if you are still on the main site – same colours and layout etc.

I’ve just moved it to a new domain and want to make sure it all works ok.

Any general feedback on layout/colours/usability is also welcome.

Berry, yes I see how it flows better. Good for you.
The colors are great here on this old monitor as well. Have I told you lately that I like your work a lot?

Pipette Olympics?

By admin in user experience conference

This is to answer the question about the pipette olympics correctly since the question was closed to answers. The winner of the pipette olympics put on by artel-usa.com at conferences or trade shows is the pipette user, out of a group, that pipettes the lowest C.V. or coeficient variation from a series of samples. The C.V. is specified by the manufacturer and is typically the ablilty/ experience of the user. Highly trained or experienced users will have very low C.V. results, typically </= 0.05%. Contact me if you have questions @yahoo.com

How to play:

Individual Contest – Select your favorite pipette and take five data points with the ARTEL PCS® Pipette Calibration System.

Best CV% score each day wins –
ARTEL Pipetting Olympics medal
The pipette used to win (with an engraved personalized gold plate)
$50 L.L. Bean Gift Certificate
Team Contest – New this year! ARTEL is also hosting a Team Pipetting Olympics. Teams of three or more people from the same institution can compete to win team prizes.

Best overall CV% score for the top three teams will win prizes at the conclusion of the Exposition –

Team Gold – $1,000 CAP Training Certificate and a $300 lab luncheon
Team Silver – $200 lab luncheon
Team Bronze – $100 lab luncheon
If you would like to have ARTEL come to your lab for pipetting training, or to arrange for a trial of the PCS Pipette Calibration System, please contact us at 888-406-3463.

What is the difference in user experience between a PSP and a DS?

By admin in user experience

My son is 9. He wants a DS. I am looking for a used DS or a used PSP. I have seen more PSP’s on Craigslist than DS’s, so I would like to know if a 9 year old would like a PSP. Are there games available for PSP’s that a boy of that age would like? Are Mario and Sonic games available for PSPs?

I have a PSP and I am very satisfied with it. Since you are looking for a used PSP, make sure it is hackable so that you can put Nintendo emulators to play GB, GBA and SNES games. Plus back up games(iso/cso)
